With the warm, workable bitumen based joint filling material from LATEXFALT, it's possible to fill joints, seams and cracks in asphalt and concrete roadways.
Joints: Joints are generally made straightaway or shortly afterwards in the solid concrete or asphalt construction by sawing or milling. In concrete structures these joints control the formation of cracks caused by hardening and drying-out shrinkage.
Seams: Seams refer to the parallel and transverse gaps occurring in the road surface due to the parallel laying of strips of asphalt or where the day's work ended.
Cracks: Cracks in asphalt can occur through, for instance:
- Insufficient load bearing capacity of the total structure,
- Underlying cracks,
- Cracks in the road foundations.
